You may have heard me say (or write ) before how much I love the fall and winter months. It truly is my favorite time of the year. And now that I am a mother of two, fall brings not only cool crisp air, but also a ton of activities that are family friendly. My favorite has to be apple picking… yes there is not much excitement going on in my life haha
What I do NOT enjoy about cold weather though, is the havoc it causes on my skin. I am sure many of you can relate, cooler temperatures dry out your skin, and can leave your complexion gray and dull. Well that is not the only thing happening on my face. After my second baby, I became the victim of the adult acne. I finally made an appointment with a dermatologist, and started on a new skincare routine.
I was prescribed Aczone, and Retin A treatment. I have only been on that regimen for few weeks, so I will provide more update on that later. I want to give it a full 10-12 weeks for the actual results. But I can tell you right now, I am liking the results A LOT (minus the peeling of course).
My doctor also recommended that I start using masks on a weekly basis. I thought it was meant to be when I found this cleansing mask.
I have tried several other clay masks before, as I am no stranger to breakouts… But this has to be one of my favorites so far. First of all, I wanted to mention, that the older I get, the more sensitive my skin is. I currently can no longer use any products containing artificial fragrances. I was so happy to see the Ionic Power Ultra Cleansing Mask, doesn’t contain parfumes, colors, parabens or binding agents.
And the application couldn’t be easier (or less messy). The mask comes with a brush, which allows you to apply a thin and even layer of the clay. So what makes this mask different than others on the market… well for startes, I did read that it contains precious glacial oceanic clay, it contains more than 50 skin enriching minerals, and most importantly (to me at least) ionic power removes dirt, residue, leftover make up and enviromental.
I have been using this mask on a weekly basis. I have used it 3 or 4 times already. So what results can you expect after just few uses? After each application my skin feels fresh and clean. It is not dried out (as I have experienced with other clay masks), also I use it in the morning right before I shower. After I wash it off, I do feel as if my skin is perfectly prepped for the moisturizer and make up. It leaves my skin bright and glowy. Can you ask for anything better?
Well, I did save the best for last. I have seen a siginificant decrease in blackheads on my nose. And along with my prescriptions, my skin has very few breakouts. I don’t know if you ever experienced acne. But to me it has been quite a struggle, and I do have to confess, it not only affects my appearance. It also affects my mood, and my daily life. When I suffer from breakouts, I do not want to leave the house, I am in a bad mood, and … it almost makes me depressed. I have been so happy to find my new skin care routine with a help of a medical professional. And I am so happy this mask is a part of that routine! As my skin is looking better and better with each day!
Thanks so much for reading! And if you have any tried and true mask recommendations, please leave them in the comment section below. I am always excited to try something new.
XO,
Anna

I have really sensitive skin too and have had issues before with clay masks. I need to give this one a shot since it sounds like it is good for sensitive skin.

One of my weekly beauty routines includes a clay face mask and bubble bath on Sunday afternoons when I get home from yoga. I recently started using the Ionic Power Ultra Cleansing Mask by Exquisite Earth Elements clay mask, I have tried many other products but this one is the best. Not only is it easy to apply with a brush that is included but feels more like a cram then a mask. You can instantly see it working on your face as it dries from a dark gray to a light gray, which takes only about 5 minutes. As the mask settles into your skin, you can see it pull the blackheads out of your pores. This mask has done magic to my face, it has unclogged my pores, absorbed excess oil, cleared my breakouts, and evened out my skin tone! It leaves my face feeling fresh, moisturized and glowing. I would highly recommend this mask for everyone!

Ah I love masks! I make it my routine to do one every Sunday. I must try this one because I’m just like you girl, the battle with acne is real and it totally affects my mood too! If you’re looking to try another one, I really love the Boscia black luminizing mask and I’ve heard great things about glamglow!

I definitely need to try this mask out! I have always struggled with blackheads on my nose (along with acne on forehead and chin), but have been hesitant to use most masks, as I also have dry skin. Sounds like this might be the perfect thing to try.
