I am so excited for my dining room reveal. Girls, this post has been highly anticipated. I have been sharing sneak peaks on my stories from furniture shopping at my local Raymour & Flanigan store to decorating for the upcoming holiday season. I have been wanting to update the dining room for awhile now so I am so excited for this project to be nearly complete.
It’s hard to believe, but our old dining room set was over 10 years old. I think we bought it right around the time when I was pregnant with Reese. It’s definitely served us well but it was a little outdated and suffered some damage from all of our moves. My style has also evolved over the past few years. I used to love dark furniture pieces but now I gravitate towards light and neutral colors.
We started shopping for our dining room furniture at Raymour & Flanigan right around February. Of course 2020 threw some curve balls so some things were put on hold. But after NY businesses were able to open up, my furniture was quickly delivered. Many of you may already be familiar with Raymour & Fanigan as it’s the number 1 furniture and mattress retailer in the Northeast.
With the rise of online retailers, I have to say it was really nice to be able to go into a traditional furniture store and get the feel for quality and look of all the pieces in person. Fun fact: Raymour & Flanigan is actually family owned and operated. And since we live in the era of convenience, one great thing about Raymour & Flanigan is not only do they offer free shipping and fast delivery, but they offer customization on many furniture pieces.
As mentioned earlier, it’s been over a decade since we shopped for dining room furniture. So it was very important for us to see pieces at all price points and Raymour & Flanigan caters to all budgets.
I met with the local sales associate Theresa and told her about the style I was looking for. She was super knowledgeable and provided many options which led me to this set. The Lorient 7- pc. Dining Set was exactly what I was looking for. And since our room is quite large, we opted for two additional arm chairs to seat a total of 8.
I fell in love with the gorgeous grey colorway, the nailhead trim and button tufting of the chairs. This set is not only classic but timeless. The upholstered dining chairs and wing back arm chairs are not only gorgeous, but they are really comfortable.
I know this holiday season may look very different for many families, but for us not much will change. Many of you know that my entire family is in Poland, and John grew up in the foster care system. So for the holidays it’s just the four of us. However, we always celebrate in a big way. We get dressed up, cook a feast and eat in the formal dining room. This year will be extra special with the new set up. If your plans are looking different this year, maybe you’re not traveling and staying home, I highly encourage you to still celebrate in style. Getting dressed up, decorating and creating beautiful table-scapes will make the holiday season extra special. For my fall home decor click here.
Even though we have an eat-in kitchen we always eat holiday meals in the formal dining room. I am so excited for this Lorient server because it’s super functional. It’s roomy, and guess what? There’s a removable wine rack in the server. You girls know I love my wine, hehe. By the way, the dining room table has a 20 in extension leaf that if you’re not using it can be stowed away inside the table.
Not only was I pleasantly surprised with the furniture selection Raymour & Flanigan but I was very impressed with their accessories and home decor options. I fell in love with this gorgeous mirror. It looks so good right above the server. They also have an amazing selection of lamps. My lamp and vase are sold out but a similar lamp version can be found here and the vase here.
Are you ready for BEFORE pics?
Image on the left was taken right before we closed on our home. And the 2nd one was right after my first budget friendly makeover (just fresh paint and new light fixture). What do you think? Crazy transformation right?
Thank you so much for reading Blushing Rose Style blog. And very special thanks to Raymour and Flaningan for partnering with me on this post. As always, all views and opinions are mine.
