Summer Glow Makeup
It has been raining in New York for what feels like weeks. With the exception of yesterday, because it was a gorgeous sunny day, which inspired me to create this subtle summer glow makeup look. Appropriate for the office, weekend festivities or everyday wear. This post contains affiliate links.
I have partnered with Nordstrom on this post. Total Nordi girl at heart because it has been my go to retailer, not only for fashion but also beauty. I mean I can always count on fast, free shipping and amazing customer service. No better time to collaborate with Nordstrom as the retailer introduces more and more beauty brands. My most recent find is the limited edition collaboration between the fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld and ModelCo. Ladies you all have the check it out. From fun packaging ( cat eye palette) to cool features … I am talking about light up lip glosses with built in mirrors.
Summer Glow in Few Easy Steps
Summer Glow makeup can be easily achieved with 5 simple steps. Just to give you some background I have naturally pale Polish skin. So keep in mind that the summer glow makeup may look totally different on your skin tone. Whenever creating makeup looks, my goal is to make it as natural as possible.
Summer Glow- Step 1 : Self Tanner
I am naturally really pale. And let’s just say it has been the longest winter in NY… I need all the help I can get, to achieve that summer glow. I have been using THIS self tanner on my face for over 6 years now. The tan is so natural looking. I found THIS gel formula safe on my sensitive / breakout prone skin. Disclaimer: it does have that horrible self tanner smell ( therefore I use it before bed). But it has been my staple for years, works great, so I highly recommend it. As far as the self tanner for the body, I use the foam formula by St Tropez. No funky smell, even, streak free and gorgeous color. Caution: apply with THIS mitt to avoid orange hands (trust me I’ve been there haha)
Summer Glow – Step 2: Bronzer
I use the bronzer to contour my face. Tom Ford bronzer (in Gold Dust) has been my go to since last summer. The only downside is the price. It is definitely a splurge item, but worth every penny in my opinion. I found this HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Bronzer to be the next best thing (my color is Luminous Bronze Light).
Summer Glow – Step 3 : Eyeshadow
Kiss Me Karl Choupette Eyeshadow palette in ” Warm/ Nude” is so gorgeous. It’s also available in ” Smokey / Burgundy” colorway . With so many wonderful colors you can easily create both daytime and evening looks. To create the Summer Glow makeup I applied CAPRI all over the eyelid, TAHITI in the outer corner and crease, and SEYCHELLES in the inner corner. Makeup brushes available in the value set HERE.
MASCARA
I fell in love with THIS Intense Black Volumizing Mascara mascara. It gives your lashes so much volume. I like to apply 2-3 coats of mascara and best part, this mascara WILL NOT clump your lashes. If you’ve been searching for a new mascara , highly recommend this one. Btw my lashes are naturally short and stubby, but I have been able to add length simply by using a serum. You can more about my eyelashes in the post HERE.
Summer Glow – Step 4 : Highlighter
I use the Liquid Luminizer Strobing Pen on the top of my cheek bones, bridge of my nose and just a dab above the lip. This creamy formula blends easily and looks so natural. I am wearing NUDE PINK.
Summer Glow – Step 5 : Lips
Brand offers so many fun colors and options. Kiss Me Karl Lip Lights Lip gloss is highly pigmented, softens your lips and smells amazing. The color I’m wearing is the St Tropez Sunset and it’s a gorgeous peachy pink. And how fun is the built in mirror and light?!
