I cannot believe the holidays are so soon. Our family life has been so hectic and rushed lately. We are truly embracing the holiday madness. We will be traveling, so both John and I are trying to tie all the loose ends on the work front and still prep the family for the festivities. Life has been just a tad more stressful than usual. Over the weekend, we decided to finally slow down and take the kids for a walk. We moved to this area last year and we are just now discovering all the local parks and trails. Long Island is truly beautiful. We all enjoyed our little hike (some more than others).

The winters in NY can be brutal, I have plenty of parkas and puffer coats (winter coat review in THIS post). But I have been wanting a Patagonia jacket for years now. The jacket is super light, packable and yet so warm! It fits TTS (I am wearing size Small). If you are in between sizes or plan on wearing chunky sweaters under, it may be a good idea to size up. I was on a hunt for a warm everyday jacket, which was comfortable for driving and easy to move around in. Some of the puffer coats I own are a bit too bulky for everyday life.
