Favorite Foundations – Sephora Haul
Hi girls, happy Wednesday. This post has been a long time coming, but I am so excited to share with you my favorite foundations and few other makeup staples I can’t live without. I frequently get asked about my makeup routine, but to be honest my everyday look / makeup is pretty natural. I rely on a good foundation to do most of the work. If you follow me on Instagram stories, you already know I am a self proclaimed beauty junkie and frequent Sephora way too often. It is the ultimate beauty / skincare destination. I find myself going into Sephora not only to restock on my favorite products but also browse the new arrivals. Btw if you haven’t already, I highly recommend joining Sephora’s Beauty Insider Program HERE. It is a free reward system, which offers so many fun benefits like access to sales, makeup classes and makeovers, and best yet… a free birthday gift!
As I mentioned I have been thinking about writing this post for quite some time. I feel like when you find a foundation that truly works for your skin type, you are married to it for life. I have three foundations on a rotation and love for different reasons and different occasions. If you asked me to pick a favorite, I would have to choose the Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. It is full coverage, but feels really light and airy. There is a wide selection of shades (50) to match any skin tone. The product is free of parabens, phthalates and is cruelty free.
My shade is 280, which is almost a perfect match to the It Cosmetics CC Cream + Illumination in Medium Tan. It is a very creamy, full coverage formula. Color correction, SPF 50 and illumnators are just few of the reasons why I love this product. It’s great especially when my skin feels dry or dull. For the days when I want my makeup to stay put all day (events, travel, etc.) or I need super full coverage, I tend to reach for the good ole classic Esteé Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place foundation. My color is tawny.
Favorite Foundations – Primer
My secret to making a good foundation great… is using a primer. I have pretty good skin texture, but it’s not perfect by any means. Makeup will look so much better if you prep your skin well. Exfoliate, moisturize and prime! I have used several good primers in the past: Laura Mercier Radiance Primer, Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer but my most recent Sephora find, may just be my favorite. The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer is going to be a cult favorite! It is great for all skin types and will not only make your foundation look better but also last longer. I have to tell you the humidity in NY over the past week has been unbearable especially since the temperatures reached mid 90s. I didn’t spend too much time outdoors, but makeup didn’t melt and still looked good!
